My channel is mainly Marty Robbins plus some artists I bought way back in the 60's. It used to be a highlight when Marty had a new album or single out in the UK and I couldn't wait to purchase them. He really was a major talent and tongue tied me got to meet the great man on several occasions. I still have a deep love of the man and his music and I'm proud to have been a fan of his for over 50 years.
Wonderful World Of You Marty Robbins
This is a very pretty song from Marty's 1980 album 'With Love.' It's a couple of years since I last posted anything on youtube but I hope folks out there will appreciate this track from one of the alltime great American singers. Notice I didn't say country singer; he was so much more because of that voice which could sing any genre beautifully.

Marty Robbins On The Opry Red River Valley.wmv

Marty Robbins was a member of the Grand Ole Opry for nigh on 30 years and without doubt he was probably the most popular act ever to perform there even surpassing the legendary Hank Williams. He thought nothing of going over his allotted time and making sure that the audience (who in a lot of instances had travelled hundreds of miles) got their money's worth. It wasn't just the wonderful voice ...

Here's Buck Owens song from 1964 sung by Marty on a TV show. Surprisingly, the song was only a flip side for Buck, the top side being 'I've Got A Tiger By The Tail.' The song was too good to fade into anonymity and has undoubtedly been cut by more artists than 'Tiger' ever was. It has become a country standard although I'm not sure if it has actually been a hit for any countryartist. Ray Charle...

Bing Crosby did this song in quite a country style and it's quite surprising that not many country artists have actually recorded the song. I can only think of Jim Reeves although of course there may be others. I think it's a lovely, meaningful song with great sentiments. Also recorded by Perry Como and Dinah Shore, Marty never cut the song, but if this version is anything to go by it's a great...
Marty Robbins Progressive Love.wmv

Another self written ballad by Marty that comes from his 1962 album 'Devil Woman.' It shows an artist who is at the top of his game and he puts the song across with the unique sensitivity that his vocal style had developed over the years. On listening to the lyric it might sound somewhat old fashioned in these modern times, but I think the song has a charm of it's own and once again illustrates...

This song is undoubtedly a country classic, having been recorded by many artists including Andy Williams, Patsy Cline, George Jones, Johnny Tillotson, The Everly Brothers, Don Gibson, Gene Vincent, Emmylou Harris, Tony Booth, Ray Price and Rex Allen Jr. amongst others. It's a Carl Belew song who also wrote another of the all time great country songs 'Am I That Easy To Forget.' This is Marty sin...
Bobby Sykes Only The Hangman

Bobby Sykes worked for Marty Robbins for nearly a quarter of a century. No mean vocalist himself, he had releases issued on Columbia records as well as later recording under the name Bob Bishop for ABC records where he had a medium sized hit with 'Roses To Reno.' This song is of course, a re-write of Streets of Laredo and over here in the UK it was covered by a singer by the name of Houston Wel...

Another superb song from the pen of Marty Robbins sung as only he could. The class of the guy just shines through. One of THE great singers, possessor of one of the finest voices ever heard, stunningly versatile and one hell of a songwriter. Mighty entertaining on stage as well.

I guess I've nearly run out of superlatives for this man's singing; he just seems to pack so much feeling into a song like this (or any other song he sings for that matter).
Marty Robbins The Bus Stop Song (A Paper Of Pins)

This song is from the 1956 20th Century Fox movie 'Bus Stop' starring Marilyn Monroe and Don Murray. It was introduced in the movie by the Four Lads who also had a recording of the song on the Columbia label. Burl Ives also had a record out on Decca. The proper title is actually 'A Paper Of Pins.' This version by Marty was never released until Bear Family Records of Germany unearthed it in the ...

This comes from a Bill Mack radio show and has Marty singing one of his idol Gene Autry's songs 'Nobody's Darlin But Mine.' Many other artists have recorded this song, Tex Ritter, Slim Whitman, Merle Haggard, Webb Pierce, Eddy Arnold, The Louvin Brothers, Frank Ifield and Leona Williams amongst others. Marty never recorded this Jimmie Davis penned song and I hope former Governor Davis did actua...
Marty Robbins Matilda

Bobby Braddock wrote this great ballad for Marty while he was his pianist in the mid 1960's. It's a wonderful song that encapsulates so well the trials and tribulations of a couple Will and Matilda on a wagon train journey in the 19th century American west. Bobby Braddock co-wrote with Curl Putnam what is acknowledged by many to be the greatest country song of all time, namely 'He Stopped Lovin...

This song was written by Canadian Bob Nolan who of course, also wrote other western classics such as 'Cool Water', 'Tumbling Tumbleweeds', 'Way Out There', 'Song Of The Bandit and 'Trail Dreamin' all recorded by Marty during his career. Marty got to duet with Bob on his last album 'Sound Of A Pioneer' and it was a meeting of the two greatest western songwriters of all. Marty sang harmony on 'Ma...

Never heard this before, what joy to experience this now!
Miss you ❤
Marty is a legend. He surrounded himself with serious musicians and his live performances as well as countless, shining studio achievements are a pleasure to behold. Bill Johnson is nothing short of astounding . I heard this song the other day and wanted to find out the name of the steel player and actually witness the execution of those incredible licks! Your posting made that possible. I am in your debt!
Who are those 2 men singing with Marty?
So good 😢😢
He looks more like Randy Travis's son to me lol
Let's be honest. Marty had one of the best bands throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's. I am a die hard Bill Martinez fan.
I’d give all I own n I’d give my last breath for you … far or near this love will never fade for you . 🌹🌹🌹Cmd
2024 June where you at?
Marvelous
Marty was always a pedal steel guitar guy. He arguably had the two greatest pedal steel players in Bill Johnson and Katz Kobayashi. Maybe living in Hawaii is where he loved the pedal steel guitar.
Love this man so much I really enjoy listening to his songs he is a real joy to listen to at night when your on your own with the loss of a husband.❤❤❤❤❤❤
We just played this great song earlier this month at the Cherry Festival. Here’s our version: ruclips.net/video/Xyx4ELs5OeY/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Just Beautiful!!!
Wonderful! Thank you for posting.
Man oh man! He started singing this and I realized, again, how much he and his son Ronnie (Marty Jr.) sound alike. Fantastic. I love his falsetto.
She have a wonderful voice 💕
The badge has yet again gone to manys head. If I wore one, I'd show them how to use it. But then I'd be fired for not obeying. Badge aint about money. It's protecting and serving the people. They pay you for that with there taxes. Stop doing that and you will stop being paid. Less the government pay you. And there being defunded as well. The people run shit. Period.
Awesome 🤩
Love ❤️ this country song 🎶
How is it that I am just now "discovering" this amazing brilliant talent at age 66? Connie Smith is extremely underrated!
Supposed to be a sad song, but I just love the sound of a different era.
I remember this song from when I was a kid and I've never forgotten it
He was always cracking up during performances
Marty's 'Don"t Worry" is my favourite song ❤️👍♥️♥️♥️
Lovely song ❤️👍
Mr. Martin has always been my favorite guitar man. Always.
This song reminds me of a black girl Sharon that I worked with in london in the late 60's. She told me that it was always played whenever people was emergrating from the Caribbean.
RIP Chappell Roan’s grandad. ❤
Lovely
